5 Unisex Children’s Party Ideas

September 17, 2013 (Powerhomebiz.com) It’s that time again for you to start brainstorming for your little one’s birthday party. And I am guessing you are more than likely struck for time because of work and your other children, never mind actually getting the time to wash your hair! For some reason, children’s parties seem to come with a lot of added pressure. Your children go to thousands of them and they are very honest about informing you whether they were boring or not! And because of the pressure with making it as fun as possible for your children, the parents make it into an ordeal by secretly competing against one another to organize the best kids party! A recent poll at ‘Mums Show Live!’ discovered that the average cost for a children’s party is around £300 with some parents admitting to spending as much as £800! Whether its £300 or £800…that’s still a heck of a lot of money. And children shouldn’t be brought up thinking that money is everything. So here are five party ideas that involve lots of fun and food:

1. Pizza making party

As well as being cheap to make, throwing a pizza party will be also be a yummy treat for the children. Set your table with plastic bowls full of lots of toppings and pre-rolled dough so the kids can have a go at decorating them themselves. And when the pizzas are in the oven, put on some music and play the usual party games!

2. Cake/biscuit baking party

The same as above but with cake, lots of sprinkles and squeezable icing so they can write their names or favourite TV characters all over their fairy cakes to take home!

3. Take them to the zoo!

My most expensive option, but who wouldn’t like the zoo? It would be both an amazing and educational day out!

4. Picnic in the park

Why pay to go to an indoors soft play area when you can take the children to the biggest local park? Fill up a massive box full of sandwiches, sweets, fruit, crisps, sweets and cake and it will go down a treat.

5. Paint your own tote bag party

Buy lots of tote bags & fabric paint and let the children go crazy! They will also make perfect personalised gifts for children. You can also throw in a game of pass the parcel or magic chairs.

…and what do you put in their party bags? The usual slice of birthday cake, maybe some felt tips, a drawing pad, a sunflower seed (kids love watching things grow!) or personalised Christening gifts for children should be a roaring success. You can get ordinary things such as a magnet, a little plaque, stickers, keying or box but by having their names on them would just add that little finishing touch!
