September 26, 2011 (Powerhomebiz.com) Gazetteer specialists Aligned Assets are proving themselves to once again be ahead of the competition by announcing today that their range of gazetteer and address management software will be compatible with the new AddressBase TM range of addressing products.
AddressBase will be the Country’s most definitive database of address and location data ever created, and will see the development of a process that will allow joined up working across the entire public sector and private sector.
Formally announced by the Ordnance Survey at the AGI Conference on 22nd September, AddressBase is the name given to the publicly available products formed from the merging of local government’s National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG), Address Layer 2 from the Ordnance Survey and the Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (PAF).
The compatible software from Aligned Assets will initially include the Symphony Bluelight Gazetteer, which gives industry leading gazetteer management functionality to the fire service, police force and ambulance services.
Additionally, compatibility will be in place for Symphony iExchange that will enable the exporting of AddressBase data to both frontline and back office systems, and Symphony SinglePoint that will give corporate access via web services. This will allow the emergency services to have a level of addressing accuracy never seen before and the resilience that comes from every person and every system referencing the same data.
Symphony SinglePoint will also enable access for the NHS, local and central government, the national parks and many more across the public sector, for whom the AddressBase products will be available under the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) and to the private sector to whom it will be available under commercial licenses.
Intuitively able to ‘plug’ into a wide variety of systems from CRMs to GIS, Symphony SinglePoint will allow everyone to enjoy a level of addressing accuracy never before available.
