Customer Flow Management In Your Business

Airport_Customer_Flow_Management_1October 17, 2014 (Powerhomebiz.net) Have you ever been made to stand in a queue for a long time, so as to wait for your turn to receive the product or a service? This is a very common phenomenon these days, especially in countries with large populations trying to make the most of the available resources. Whether it is a bank, a hospital, or even a railway station, you have to patiently wait for your turn to receive the service. It can be a very frustrating and annoying experience for most people to wait till they are served. Most people find it drudgery and exasperating and even consider switching to the products and services of another company because of poor buying experience. All this knowledge has led to the development of a new tool called customer flow management to help decrease customer dissatisfaction. It is increasingly being employed by businesses across various industries.

Managing queues can go a long distance in increasing sales

In present times, there is cut throat competition among companies to add new customers to their customer base and also to hold on to their existing customers. These companies have realized the importance of providing a pleasing buying experience to their customers. They also try to reduce the displeasure of their customers when they are made to wait in queues for their turn. Extensive study and research in queuing psychology has given birth to customer flow management that does much more than reduce customer dissatisfaction.

Steps involved in deployment of customer flow management

Before introducing customer flow management in your business, you need to make an assessment of the current situation. You need to collect data on the following aspects of your business.
• Number of clients received by your business on a daily basis
• Number of customers during peak hours
• Wait time for an average customer
• Time required for serving a customer
• Feedback on the services provided by the company

An analysis of the current parameters of your business will give you an indication of the improvements you need to increase customer satisfaction. You are now ready to deploy customer flow management depending upon your goals. Are increased sales your top priority? Are you interested in increasing customer satisfaction? Do you want to increase the efficiency and productivity of your staff? Whatever your objectives, a good quality CFM will help you in finding the right solutions to the problems you are facing in your business.

Introduce changes in the place for better queue management

You may be required to redesign the space where your customers walk-in to take a look at your products and services. There may be a need to change the fixtures and add some more facilities to keep the buying experience of your customers pleasing at all times. Depending upon whether it is a linear queuing model or a virtual queuing system at your place, customer flow management will necessitate changes in your queuing system to reduce customer displeasure when he is made to wait for his turn to be served.
