EOL To Be a ‘Game Changer’ In The Way Engineers Learn New Skills

March 20, 2014 (Powerhomebiz.net) Engineering professionals around Australia – and around the world – will now be able to develop their business and technical skills via the web with the launch of the online learning centre, EOL, engineeringonline.com.

Developed by Engineering Education Australia on behalf of Engineers Australia, EOL is set to revolutionise the way engineering professionals learn and develop new skills.
EOL features hundreds of resources including access to short courses, technical presentations, webinars, case studies, videos and articles, with three levels of subscription (free, standard and premium).

EOL is expected to be of particular benefit to engineers in regional and remote areas, with companies able to save time and money by not having to release staff to attend workshops typically held in major cities.

EOL is expected to be of particular benefit to engineers in regional and remote areas, with companies able to save time and money by not having to release staff to attend workshops typically held in major cities.

On top of that, engineering professionals will be able to access the course or resource when it suits them, and do it from the convenience of their office.
“The main idea for EOL is to provide continuous professional development for all engineering-related professionals, no matter where they are,” said Ann Ellis, the Group General Manager of Engineering Education Australia.

“In the past, with travel and accommodation expenses, engineers in regional areas sometimes found it difficult to attend workshops.

“This is going to be a game changer for those people, because now they can develop their business and engineering skills more conveniently from their office at any time.”
The CEO of Engineers Australia, Stephen Durkin, said that one of the aims of EOL is to focus Engineers Australia as a global centre of engineering expertise and learning.
“EOL will provide access to qualifications and continuous learning for engineering professionals,” he said.

“As part of that, we’d like engineering professionals to recognise and regard Engineers Australia as being the global home, or first port of call, for their ongoing learning and continuous professional development.”
