June 3, 2014 (Powerhomebiz.net) My name is Jene, but everyone calls me by my nickname J.P. I was born in southwest Virginia, just a wee speck on a map, in the beautiful mountains of coal country. I have always loved and created Handmade Crafts, and had a gift for it even as a child. My appreciation and ability to make DIY Home Decorating items from simple ingredients and items found in the woods, made me popular in my home town even as a young child.
Later in life, I owned a Floral Shop in Indiana, with lots of different handmade crafts like Macramé (when it was really popular), and fresh arrangements. I also discovered that I had skills to create made-to-order wreaths, wall-hangings, small decorative bird houses, and all kinds of other arts & handmade crafts. I also created floral arrangements and centerpieces for weddings, private parties, homes & small businesses.
My inspiration and dedication to the arts came from being amazed as a young child by all of the beauty around me. Everywhere you look there is incredible beauty in God’s creations in nature; the trees, foliage, flowers, wildlife. And I even found inspiration in the manmade things around me such as in simple shops and galleries, and even in hotels, restaurants, and in family & friend’s homes; seeing all of their arrangements, handmade crafts, and DIY home decorating.
I decided I would love to be able to do this as my future work. I practiced as much as possible with all types of things I could simply pick up outside; flowers, twigs, wild grass, pine cones, and others. Then, as I practiced and became more skilled, I began to buy some items and paint and decorate them to produce one of a kind artist-made original pieces. So I love making my florals, bird houses, wreaths, centerpieces, just about anything that has to do with handmade crafts, that I will frequently lose track of time in my workshop and before I know it, there are several new original pieces. I just don’t have any more room in my home to display them, so I want to share them with others.
When I’m alone in my workshop with the radio playing, I feel a sense of calm and joy; a feeling of peace within as I start to create my pieces. I stock up on all different kinds of materials I will need to begin a project. I order from different warehouses, go to craft supply stores to find sale items, I might ever use. I continue to use things I find in nature that are all around me.
A few years ago, I moved to south Florida, where I find even more inspiration by the beach and the natural beauty all around me here. Many of my pieces now are reflections of the things I see around me here. The birdhouses and items I make reflect small slices of life at the beach; little seaside sundries shops, fishing village scenes, and wildlife found along the waterfront.
It has always been truly so much fun for me making these pieces, I would think of family projects as a child. Making cute little homemade crafts, gifts for mommy, daddy, my grandparents, and friends. I would always check out everything at malls, craft stores, making sure to select items of quality craftsmanship and beauty. Then I would take them home and put my own touches on them, making them original and one of a kind. All bird houses are hand painted to perfection, decorated with pretty silk/dried flowers, birds, porch railings, and other unique touches. My beach items have real Florida sand, tiny sandals, coolers, beach bags, Adirondack chairs, umbrellas, and other items that I find locally to remind you of family vacations at the beach.
I specialize in making quality craftsmanship in all my projects, which are guaranteed 100%. When making my seasonal pieces, such as Spring Wreaths, I use all of spring’s colors, including pastels, pink, and blue, yellow, cream. For autumn, Thanksgiving, and Halloween, I use deep reds/burnt orange, bright orange & yellow colors. I think you will see the color themes vividly when you look at my creations on my website.
My artist-made crafts look awesome in home, office, or anywhere, to complement your own DIY home decorating and to help coordinate your colors.
