National Visas One Way To Seek For Migration

November 8, 2011 (Powerhomebiz.com) As Australia is gripped in a chronic skills shortage, several Australian migration issues have reemerged and one of them is the “big Australia” debate. With the current labor and skills shortages threatening to restrict the nation’s capacity to lift exports and jeopardize the country’s ongoing billion-dollar projects and those still on the pipeline, the “big Australia” debate was reignited.

The “big Australia” debate centers around the issue of boosting or increasing Australia’s immigration levels. Advocates of “big Australia” now presently calls for an increase in permanent and temporary immigration to Australia directed to areas where it is needed – which includes mining states and rural and regional areas that have the potential to boost food production to serve the currently growing Asian markets.

With this program, people will be able to acquire a visa Australian that will entitle them for migration to Australia, either temporarily or permanently.

However, with the “big Australia” debate still under wraps, there are other ways for people to migrate to Australia. There are several different types of Australian immigration, classed under different categories of Australian visas:

Employer Sponsored Visas

These working visas Australian are most commonly granted to highly skilled workers who are sponsored by an approved Australian or overseas employer and have recognized qualifications and skills/or experience in particular nominated skilled occupations required in Australia. This visa enables its holder to live and work in Australia temporarily for a period of between one day and four years or permanently as permanent residents.

Skilled Visas

migration These visas are for professionals and other skilled migrants under 50 years old who have skills in demand in the Australian labor market – meaning their occupation is listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL), Critical Skills List (CSL), Employer Nominated Skilled Occupation List (ENSOL) and the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL). These visas can be applied either independently – no sponsorship required, sponsored by individual states, which recruit workers according to specific needs or sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia. Applicants are assessed against a points-based system, granting points for certain standards of education.

Business Visas

These visas are for business people who want to conduct short business visits, establish or manage a new or existing business or invest in Australia. These visas are available as temporary or permanent visas.

Student visas

This is for foreign students who want to study in Australia. There are a number of categories of student visas, most of which require a confirmed offer from an educational institution. Applicants are categorized under 5 Assessment Levels which are determined by the applicant’s passport and the education sector of the applicant’s principal course.

Family visas

These visas are for fiancés, partners, children, parents and other family members of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents.

Employment and family visas can often lead to Australian citizenship; however, applicants are required to have lived in Australia for at least four years with at least one year as a Permanent Resident.
