Organize Your Shoe Collection

October 5, 2011 (Powerhomebiz.com) It is common these days to have an entire closet full of footwear. More than ever before there are pairs in every style imaginable and a lot of people love expanding their collection of footwear the same way they would add to a collection of porcelain figures, baseball cards, or toy trains. Some people love to display their favorite pairs, but most wear their footwear just like anyone else. They just have more option than the average person. The trouble is these extensive collections take up a lot of room in the closet. If you are looking for a way to organize your collection of footwear, you have a few options. Whether it is finger shoes, Fly London shoes, high heels or athletic footwear, you need to keep every pair you have organized and well cared for.

First, divide your collection into everyday footwear and special occasion pairs. This helps you get a grip on what type of organization you need. Pairs you wear all the time should be easy to access. Special occasion pairs can be packed further away and protected from dust and the passage of time. Some people display these special occasion pairs, but this is not necessary of course. The important thing is to protect them from harm when storing them.

shoes Next, come up with ways to protect all of your pairs of footwear. If you invest in quality pairs, you will want them to last as long as possible. You should not take for granted that if you toss them into your closet everything will be fine and then will last forever. You need to make the effort to care for expensive fashion investments, even if it seem silly to other people. When designing your closet, make sure you account for all of your footwear. If you think you are going to have a tough time storing all that you have, consider a custom solution that is right for you.

Once you have the footwear divided into casual everyday pairs and special occasion, set about organizing those two groups into categories. You should keep athletic shoes together, work shoes together, heels together, and so forth. This helps you find what you need when you are in a rush during the hectic morning hours of getting ready. It also makes getting ready for special occasions much easier. You will not have to worry about shuffling around looking for the perfect footwear for a particular dress or outfit.

Finally, Consider investing in racks, inserts, or forms to help your footwear maintain it shape for a long time to come. The important thing is keeping your footwear organized and in top condition. You need to make sure your investment is protected and you are able to wear all of your pairs for many years to come. Otherwise, you might as well just be buying cheap footwear from anywhere. If you care about footwear and you want to keep everything neat and organized, have a plan in place to store your collection.
