Printing Brisbane – Business Stationary

March 19, 2013 (Powerhomebiz.com) Business stationary is an important part of the printing needs for most Brisbane SME’s.

With more and more business being conducted in the client’s office, or on ‘neutral ground’, good business stationary is becoming more and more essential.

When the only visible component of your business that a customer can gauge is your business stationary and possibly yourself, having a professional business card and letterheads may be one of your only opportunities to build credibility and trust.

The business stationary items we most commonly print for SME’s in Brisbane are: Envelopes,Business Cards , Letterheads, With Comps and Invoice Books. All of these business stationary items are available in full colour or spot colour, and are generally printed using an offset printing press.

Full colour printing is the most cost effective option in Brisbane, but spot colour is useful for exact colour matching and to achieve certain colours that can not be produced with CMYK.

Aggregated group runs, and negating the need for ‘wash ups’ between jobs, is the reason that full colour printing has become cheaper than spot colour printing in most cases, even though a full colour press is much more expensive to purchase, run and staff.

Spot colour printing has remained valid technology because of the limitations with full colour printing at present. PMS colour is still commonly used for envelopes , invoice books, Business Cards and Letterheads, when the artwork is not suitable for CMYK. Envelopes and Invoice books are still most commonly printed in 1 or 2 spot colours in the Brisbane market, due to the cost savings and fairly mundane internal uses for these products.

In years gone past, specialty stocks were very popular and having a very expensive Letterhead or Business Card stock implied a sense of ‘prestige’. As full colour printing in aggregated runs became more popular in Brisbane, and became cheaper as a result; specialty stocks have become more expensive and less popular.

Full colour printing on a specialty stock is also very expensive as a group run is not possible, due to the different stock. PMS or spot colour printing on a specialty stock is still more expensive than printing full colour on a standard stock, due the wash up and set up costs.
