Startup Skool Presents: A Summer Contest for Youth Entrepreneurs

startup-skoolJune 2, 2016 (Powerhomebiz.net) Startup Skool – a summer camp that transforms youth into critical thinkers, problem solvers, and creators – has teamed up with Launch Academy and Victory Square to launch their 2016 Summer Contest for young entrepreneurs. Applicants aged 8-16 will be given the opportunity to pitch their next big idea in the form of a one-minute video. The grand prize? The top 5 applicants across Vancouver, Victoria, and Kelowna will win a free week of their choice at Startup Skool throughout July & August, a half-day mentoring session at Launch Academy with top local entrepreneurs, as well as a one-on-one mentoring session with Startup Skool’s Founder, Kim Cope!

Entering the contest is simple and requires no voting. With permission from their legal guardian, youth can apply by submitting a persuasive one-minute pitch video that explains their business idea and why they are the perfect person to bring it to life. Applicants will be judged on the originality, feasibility, and presentation of their pitch by a panel of judges including Kim from Startup Skool, Ray Walia from Launch Academy, and Shafin Diamond from Victory Square.

If you or a young student you know is looking for early exposure to an entrepreneurial way of thinking and the startup community in BC, then sign up for a week at Startup Skool and get a pitch video submitted today!
