“It’s a concept that exists in other Cities, but there’s really no business quite like this in Niagara Falls, Ontario,” Karim said.
“It may seem like a strange concept, but you have pizza delivered to your home. Why not groceries?” Fareen said.
With two owners as the sole employees, Fareen says “This is our first full year in business and our projected sales will be on target. So things are going well. I suppose the point of the story is that while I felt completely defeated early on, it took me time and hard work to make a life here. Securing a regular job would have been much easier than starting a business in a new country, but taking action to change my own personal circumstance with my husband was the only solution.
The most rewarding aspect of starting, maintaining and growing a business has definitely been getting new customers and having Local support. It’s so good to serve the local residents especially the seniors and busy parents,” says Karim who admits that the business is gaining popularity.
This service benefits Busy Parents, senior citizens, ill residents, Tourist’s and “just people who say, ‘I really don’t want to do grocery shopping myself,’’
Businesses also use this service to order products like fruits or snacks for their break rooms or office parties.
“Customers can visit e-convenience.com and shop for over 2000 available products. It is almost like having your local grocery store available online at your fingertips. You just select an item and add it to your cart, like you do on amazon.ca. Once you have completed your shopping, select a convenient delivery date and time. We then shop, pack and deliver the items to the customer’s doorstep.” Karim said.
There is no registration or membership fee required. Customers are charged a $14.99 delivery fee per order. Payments can be made using PayPal or a credit card online.
E-Convenience Groceries offers delivery service to only Niagara Falls Ontario. Most of the deliveries are made between 10 a.m. and 3p.m because of the fresh produce. Customers can also request for delivery after hours as per their convenience.
