It’s Official – Wolfestone Leads The Way In Skills And People Development

February 18, 2012 (Powerhomebiz.com) Wolfestone, the Swansea based translation service provider, has rounded off an excellent start to 2012 by winning the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Award for Skills and People Development. The award recognises Wolfestone’s commitment to the development of its employees and also the company’s wider achievements in engaging the local community.

Director Anna Bastek is delighted with this latest award, and what it represents:

“We’ve won many business awards, and while they all mean a great deal this one is particularly pleasing because it acknowledges the philosophy that underpins all of our achievements. We believe the people of South Wales are talented and hard working, with enormous potential for personal and professional growth. We help them to realise that potential”.

wolfestone Wolfestone’s commitment to the community has coincided with a remarkable period of corporate growth. A 500% increase in turnover between 2008 and 2011 is set to be followed by an even more successful 2012. Anna is convinced that business ethics and business growth can work hand in hand.

“I’m proud to have made Wolfestone a market leader by recruiting and training a local workforce. We’re constantly developing performance management systems designed to bring out the best in everyone we employ. For our customers, this means faster turnaround times, greater efficiency and lower costs. We also invest in ongoing customer service training. Our people believe in performing every aspect of their jobs as well as possible, whether they’re translating a document or returning a phone call.”

The company’s internship programme offers young people invaluable experience of a dynamic, successful workplace. Interns see exactly what it takes to succeed in a company which combines cutting edge technology with absolute dedication to customer service. All interns are equipped with a set of skills and values that will serve them well in any working environment, and many have gone on to full time permanent employment with Wolfestone.

In addition, Wolfestone sponsors Awards for Excellence for MA students at Swansea University. Recent award winners, buoyed by their success, have chosen to pursue careers in the language services industry.

Working in partnership with Careers Wales West, Wolfestone has also made an impact on an even younger generation. The company’s interview training programme offers students at local schools an ideal “dress rehearsal” for interviews with employers, colleges and universities.

Anna Bastek sees these initiatives as integral parts of a wider commitment to training and development.

“These past few years have been challenging, economically and socially. We’re proud to deliver good news stories for the region, offering local people continuous professional development and a genuine career path. I’m delighted that the Chamber Of Commerce has recognised it with this prestigious award”.
