The advertisers can employ various methods like pay per click, pay per impression, pay per play or pay per action. As the online marketing initiatives usually demand users to click on an advertisement, visit a website, and perform a targeted action, the results of campaigns can be evaluated and tracked immediately.

Drawbacks

The main limitation of e-marketing is that it requires customers to use newer technologies instead of traditional media. Another downside is the low-speed internet connections which build barriers for the user using dial-up connections, hindering the content delivery of companies which build large or overly-complicated websites.

And as far as purchasing of the product is concerned, the inability of shoppers to touch, smell, taste the goods before making an online purchase makes it a somewhat unreliable source. But with the stipulations of industry standards for e-commerce vendors that reassure customers of their liberal return policies as well as provide in-store pick-up services, the online purchase has optimally increased in the recent times.
